I have a student with a learning disability in my 7:00pm
class who wants to use extended time. What are my options?
The student can make arrangements with you to take the exam
in class, provided you can give him/her the extended time
needed, or the student can make arrangements with the TAC
to take the exam earlier in the day.
I have a student who needs to take a make-up exam. Can
I send him/her to the TAC?
If you have received
notification from our office that a student is registered with the AEC, then
the student can take the exam at the TAC. Students not registered
with our office are not able to use the TAC space.
One of my students came up to me and said that he/she
has a learning disability/ADHD and needs extra time for an
exam, but I have not been notified from your office about
this student. What should I do?
You can call the AEC to verify that a student is registered with us. If not, you can refer him/her to our office, but
are not obligated to provide extended time without this confirmation.
I am a new faculty member and have received notification
from your office about one of my students needing extra time.
What am I supposed to do?
If the student has contacted you and plans to take the exam
in the TAC, you will need to get a copy of the exam to the
Academic Enrichment Center by the day before the exam is scheduled.
The completed exam will be returned to the department by courier,
or you can request that it be held for you to pick up.
